Having trouble keeping on top of your marketing efforts? It’s possible that you may be able to simplify the entire process while still having the same impact, or more. Below are just a few ways to simplify your marketing while keeping it effective.
Streamline your marketing channels
Many businesses believe that they have to tap into every marketing channel available in order to maximize their audience and get the best results. However, this often just results in too many channels to keep track of – often resulting in companies spreading their marketing efforts too thin.
For example, while almost every business can benefit from being on social media, you don’t have to be active on every social media site. It’s better to focus your efforts on one or two platforms where you can more easily track results.
Outsource marketing tasks
You don’t have to do all of your own marketing yourself. In fact, there are many tasks like website development, SEO, event planning and video production that can often be better in the hands of a third-party expert.
You should outsource marketing tasks that you find to be a chore or that you cannot get results in. For instance if you find email marketing a chore and you are not getting any leads from it, consider outsourcing this task. Just bear in mind that outsourcing tasks costs extra money – so you may not want to outsource all of your marketing.
Automate marketing tasks
It may even be possible to automate certain routine marketing tasks such as sending various alerts and notifications and renewing PPC ad campaigns. This could further reduce the burden of marketing by allowing you to focus purely on the tasks that require creativity.
Some of the best marketing automation software can be used with everything from emails to texts. Take the time to explore software options.
Stick to a schedule
It can be much easier to stay on top of marketing if you create a marketing schedule for yourself. This could include sending emails and publishing social media posts at certain times of the week. It may even be possible to do all of your marketing in one day each week, including planning all your social media posts and marketing emails – these can then be automatically scheduled to go out on certain days at certain times. This prevents you having to go back and forth between marketing channels throughout the week.
Encourage customer advocacy
You may even be able to encourage your customers to do some of your marketing for you. Happy and loyal customers are more likely to write positive reviews and they may recommend your business to others. You can encourage this behavior by getting to know these customers and rewarding them for their loyalty. You can also set up referral programs that may reward customers with payment in exchange for getting friends to sign up – this is a great way to build leads without having to do any marketing work yourself.
