It may not be something that you consider in your day-to-day life, but without the benefits of medical research and the time and money put into it, the human lifespan would be much like it was hundreds of years ago; Very short! We make medical breakthroughs and we do the research so that we can find ways to support the research of diseases and cures for illnesses.
Medical research is crucial for our future if we want to be able to survive, and while diseases and viruses mutate and change overtime, our research is what is necessary to keep up with those changes. Doctors and researchers such as Hanid Audish DO do what they do tirelessly to ensure that we are as healthy as possible. Vaccinations for diseases help to eradicate them, and things like measles, mumps and typhoid are a lot less prevalent than they were 50 to 60 years ago. It’s all due to the research undertaken by experts, so even if you don’t know about those research trials and medications they are testing for, supporting them is still important. With this in mind, here is why we should be investing in medical research where we can, much like the Dwoskin Family Foundation does with vaccine research.
- Eradication of disease. It’s a no brainer, we all want to be healthier and happier people, and the best way to do that is to ensure that we are looking at the diseases as they happen and adapting away from them. Finding a cure for illness or a virus is a must, because that’s how we maintain a healthy population. Research helps us to eradicate the diseases that are plaguing us, and it’s why you don’t see things such as polio as often as we used to except for in third world countries. We are living in a very prevalent time where we are able to afford vaccines and medications, but that’s only possible due to the number of experts out there researching these diseases and figuring out the cures.
- Improving our quality of life. Because of medical research, countless new medications have been developed in order to improve the quality of life for chronically ill patients. There used to be a time where children and adults with diabetes would simply slip into diabetic comas and pass away, but then insulin was created and now that’s widely used every single day by billions to be able to ensure that their symptoms of diabetes are managed. This is due to medical research, and medications wouldn’t be available without it. Extensive testing in labs is used in both animals and humans to ensure that we are able to continue to use these new medications to keep on top of the diseases we are trying to get rid of.
- Finding new breakthroughs. Cancer has been around for generations and we are still pouring as much money as possible into research so that we can get rid of cancer once and for all. We may not be there quite yet, but medications for things like cancer and a LS are developing. It is possible that cures may be developed in the future to get rid of these life threatening diseases once and for all.
