Mornings are tough, alright? There are mornings you wake up feeling like you can take on all, and there are others you need to hit snooze until Thursday. I’ve seen both sides of that coin, and if you’re like me, you know that that one hour can make all the difference to the rest of your day. You don’t need to completely overhaul your lifestyle to switch up your morning routine. You just need to pay attention and possibly listen to a podcast. Yes, podcasts. They’ve also been one of the most underrated resources to make your day start with clarity, purpose, and a shot of motivation. Starting your day with a quality and inspiring podcast like the Remarkable People Podcast will most likely change your day, and life for the better.
A Simple Way to Start Well
Truthfully we all know that none of us has time (or motivation) to go for a two-hour morning ritual of green juice, meditation, journaling, and 100 pushups, but all of us have five or ten minutes, those lonely minutes while getting the coffee, stuck car-commuting, or shaving, to give our brains something to fuel that will make us grow.
That’s where podcasts shine. They meet you right where you are. No stress involved. No preparation required. Just press play.
Choosing What You Let In
Who you listen to matters. I’ve learned that the voices we invite into our lives, especially in the morning, tend to shape how we think, feel, and respond for the rest of the day. That’s a big deal.
Podcasts let you choose those voices with purpose. Whether it’s a faith-based leader speaking truth, a business mentor dropping wisdom, or someone sharing stories of perseverance, you’re intentionally choosing to fill your mind with content that lifts, not drains.
Some mornings I’ll listen to scripture and devotionals. Other days, I’ll tune into leadership talks or personal stories from people who’ve been in the trenches and come out stronger. The point is, it sets the tone, and that tone stays with you.
Learning Without Slowing Down
One of the things I like best about podcasts is that they allow you to keep on educating while still busy living your life. You don’t need to do anything differently. Whether you are making breakfast, dog-walking, or commuting to work, your ears are free and your mind is receptive.
If you are one who is constantly saying, “Wish I had more time to read,” or “Wish I could learn, but I’m just so busy,” then your remedy is very simple, podcasts are for you. You can listen, learn, and ponder without having to add anything extra to your already busy plate.
And if you’re establishing a business or are a part of marketing, you’ll realize that even a Digital Marketing Agency will tell you that the best brains within their company are those who are ever listening, ever learning, and keeping themselves curious with such means as podcasts.
Small Habit, Big Impact
It’s not exactly listening to three shows at once when you wake up. It’s that one voice, that one concept, that one inspiration that lifts you up.
Sometimes I only make it to five minutes. Other times, I make it to a whole episode before everyone is up. The element of consistency is vital. A few minutes every morning becomes a habit that pays dividends day after day.
It’s amazing how one episode’s narrative or quote can shift your way of thinking, challenge your mind, or motivate you at exactly that time that you need encouragement most. That subtle change can make all the difference in how you present as a parent, partner, friend, and leader.
Choosing the Top Podcasts
There are plenty of shows to watch out there, so don’t let that intimidate you. I would recommend beginning with a select few categories:
- Spiritual growth: Bible-based messages, devotionals, Christian living
- Entrepreneurship and Leadership: Honest words from those who built something meaningful
- Support and attitude: Open dialogue about life, purpose, and being resilient
Begin modestly. Select one or two hosts who are fluent in your tongue and who share your values. If something isn’t resonating, no problem, go to the next one. You are not stuck.
Keep a favorite episode note on your phone, so that those mornings when you’re tired or busy, you don’t have to make a decision. Simply press play.
Make It Yours
Here’s something that I tell myself all the time: there is no need to make morning routines Pinterest-perfect. They just need to be yours. If you are listening while you are making lunches or brushing your teeth, that’s okay too. You are filling your cup every day, and that matters.
Try to be intentional with what you’re already doing.
Let It Flow Through You
One of the best things about starting your day with encouragement and truth is that this doesn’t just stop with you. If you set your mind to good, meaningful content, you carry that with you into your words, into your decisions, and into your attitude.
It usually makes you do something. You feel differently, you dream a little bigger, you move out with a little more confidence. Soon enough, those 10-minute listens are translating into the way that you live and love.
A Helpful Starting Point
You like this concept, give this a whirl:
- Pick one morning this week to try it out.
- Find a podcast that uplifts your spirit or focuses your attention.
- Play while you are getting ready, making breakfast, or commuting to work.
- Write one thing that you heard or say to someone one thing that you heard.
That’s it. Simple, doable, and rich with meaning.
Mornings were never to be reactive and hectic but instead to be filled with purpose. Whether by prayer, by contemplation, by listening to someone who encourages you, how you start your day holds with it importance that sets a tone.
So go for it, try a podcast. Let it give your morning a breath of life. And trust me, you might wake up to face that day just a little lighter, a little sharper, and a whole lot sooner to tackle whatever is coming your way.
