Outsourcing is a fantastic way to improve your business without allowing it to get more bloated. As you pick up more clients and want to do more with your company, administrative and other needs will grow in turn. Some common mistakes business owners make are to either try to do everything themselves, push additional work onto their existing employees, or hire more employees for each task. But with outsourcing, you can access skills and talent that your business needs and handle important tasks without hiring a full-time employee. Here are 5 Ways That Outsourcing Can Boost Your Business.
1. Marketing
If you want your business to grow, you need to invest in a good marketing strategy. Marketing is a skillset that’s completely divorced from a lot of other skills your business might need. For example, if you provide a service, you’re probably skilled in that service, and your employees likely have similar skills.
While you can try to market your business yourself, if you want to take your company’s marketing further, you should outsource to a marketing service provider. They can create a campaign and push a strategy that’s more likely to see real success.
2. Accounting and Bookkeeping
As well as other administrative tasks, accounting might not seem as important as other roles in your company at first. But it’s one thing that you can’t risk getting wrong.
Most sole traders do their own bookkeeping and accounting, but as your business gets more complicated with more expenses and sources of revenue, the chances of making a mistake increase. It’s best to use bookkeeping software to keep track of your finances and, when you need to, outsource to an accountant for tax purposes.
3. IT Services
Your IT systems are one of those things that are easy to ignore, at least until they go wrong. An IT shutdown can cripple production until it’s fixed, costing time and money and risking missed deadlines. But you don’t necessarily need a dedicated IT team, at least for a smaller business.
In this case, an IT solutions provider can offer the support your company needs when it needs it, but without having to either hire a specialist full-time or try to get your most tech-savvy intern to fumble through it.
4. Customer Service
Your employees are busy, but customer service and support are absolutely vital parts of a business because they keep customers coming back. Most service tickets and concerns are very minor, meaning that you can outsource to a customer service agency to tackle basic issues.
If a customer does have a more complicated problem, it can then be passed on to you or another employee who knows more about the product or service.
5. Cleaning
If you have a dedicated office or workspace, it’s important to keep it clean. This is good for morale, as well as the health of your employees. It also reflects badly on your business if you have an untidy or unhygienic workplace. Hire commercial cleaners to keep the place looking nice and to allow your employees to focus on their work.
