Have you ever wondered how some brands just seem to appear from nowhere and suddenly start dominating the market? If so, you’re not alone. It turns out that these companies are onto something, and it’s all to do with how they use ads.
But what should you be doing that actually works for your business? What can you learn from these superstar companies that just seem to get it right all the time?
Storytelling That Sticks
One of the first things they do is storytelling that sticks. They know the power of narratives and how they can use ads to deliver on these.
What’s interesting about a lot of ads these days is that they are less about specs and features. Most ads now focus on things like emotions and creativity, which are aspects of experience that the majority of consumers care about.
The consequence is billions of impressions and massive increases in sales. Top brands like Apple understand that they need to tug at their audience’s heartstrings to get results.
Retargeting More Often
Top brands are also retargeting their ads more often. Again, it sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised by just how few companies actually do it.
This retargeting, however, is different from ten years ago. Previously, brands would simply put up banners on third-party sites. However, today, they include more perks, offers and discounts when retargeting to garner even more interest.
Micro-Influencer Swarms
Another thing you’ll want to look out for is micro-influencer swarms. Instead of paying for ads directly, you get user-generated content creators to do the heavy lifting for you. This approach allows a lot of companies to simply avoid the cost and complexity of conventional ads.
What’s more, because the product space online is so enormous, this strategy actually works. Consumers who type in specific keywords are much more likely to get noticed.
AI-Automated Ad Refinement
The best brands are also using platforms that facilitate AI ad experiments so they don’t have to constantly play with variables themselves. Not only does this technology save time, but it also makes the entire advertising process more effective.
AI is getting better at figuring out what consumers want, and it is now an agent, meaning that it can swap concepts and ideas around itself without having to ask you for permission first. Because of this, it’s possible to go into an ad campaign and improve it from the ground up.
Sequential Messaging Across Funnels
What about sequential messaging across funnels? Interestingly, that’s another strategy brands are using. Usually, it goes something like: thought-leadership, case study, and then demo CTA.
Companies do it this way to ensure that their ads are targeting people in different parts of the sales funnel. Sometimes, it’s just helpful for consumers that there’s someone out there who can understand and solve their problems.
Shoppable Livestreams
Finally, you can use platforms like Instagram to launch shopping livestreams. Just be sure that you’re adding real value and not just trying to flog as many items as possible.
