The pandemic alerted people that there was a different way to work than just commuting for three hours a day and sitting in an office with people. This new way of working has meant that people are literally able to roll out of bed, go downstairs for breakfast and then power up their laptop to start the day. Remote work is the way of the future.
There is no more pressure on those catalytic converters in the car and constant breakdowns because of how long you are spending on the road. This is no longer a factor because you’re not doing those huge commutes anymore. It’s new, and if you have been on the fence as to whether to say yes to remote work, those car repair savings you are going to make should be a big reason. Most people are adopting that work from home lifestyle because technology and unfortunately a global pandemic has allowed that to happen. Work from home jobs have been around for a while, but they are on the rise. Here’s why you should say ‘yes’ to remote work.
- There’s a balance. When you remove that long commute that you do every single day, you instead spend time working on what matters and not what doesn’t. You can try on the actual workload and then have some more balance because when you finish work more instantly at home and not needing to travel for hours.
- You save money on your vehicle. This is actually a very big factor. If you’re commuting for more than an hour per day either way, you can extend that commute when you add in traffic, and accidents that happen on the highway. If you are driving, you clock up that mileage on your car needs more repairs more often. If you don’t know what a catalytic converter is, you shouldn’t have to find out because you wouldn’t need to see your mechanic every month.
- You have far less stress. If you are not a person who is extroverted and able to get out there and be around people all the time, you will find that being at home gives you that fulfillment that you need. Work is stressful no matter where you do it, and working from home will not eliminate all workplace stress. However, it can reduce a lot of the stress that does come with office lifestyle stops when you are given more time and control over that time, you are no longer physically tied to a desk and your productivity isn’t being hovered over by a manager.
- You can feel fulfilled. Not everybody requires the presence of people that they are forced to interact with every day. You can feel fulfilled just knowing that you are getting your work done and it’s going in their own time. It can also help that you get those moments through the day to have a breather and just be for yourself in your home surrounded by your things.
Working from home isn’t for everyone but why not say yes and give it a go?
