The Essentials For Working At Home: Scheduling, Exercise, & Tools You Can Use
As a small business owner or a remote worker, staying productive throughout the day will take some getting used to and might be a challenge for you in those first few months.
Setting up your workspace at home and working remotely is something that can be a huge change of lifestyle, and for many it is something that once they try, they never want to go back to office life.
Today we want to discuss working from home and some of the most essential things you need to consider and do to make your home office and schedule work for you.
Set yourself a schedule
The first step to running a successful Home business or working for a company is to set a schedule for yourself every day. Most employers that offer flexible working will allow you to run your day to day work, and if you are a business owner you will need to decide on your priorities. Get yourself a whiteboard and hang it up in your home office, and make a point each day or week to write down the important to dos you have and write down any important meetings or appointments you have. This will help to get your mind organised for the day and it will keep you on track. The whiteboard will also provide a visual reminder of the things you need to do should you struggle and lose your train of thought.
Get started early
It is a great idea when working at home to start your day early. Even if you prefer working later in the day, get up a little earlier and make time for a healthy morning routine. Starting work earlier can be beneficial in several ways but the most important one is that your mind will be completely fresh and untainted by the events of the day. By waking up, grabbing a coffee, and starting to work for a few hours, it will allow you to get in the zone and focus easier.
Start the day with exercise
For those of you who want to be healthier and also motivate yourself for a more productive morning – starting your day with a workout can be beneficial. Not only will it help you to stay lean, but the endorphins and adrenaline released during exercise will also help you to wake up for the day and prevent you suffering that annoying brain fog for the first hour of your day.
Use free tools
When working from home either for yourself or someone else, it is such a good idea to find tools that will make your working life easier. This could be anything from video call software to cloud hosted word apps, and even graphic design and social scheduling tools. There are so many free tools out there to help you with your business and it will make your working day go much smoother.
Use some of these simple tips and set up the perfect home business for yourself this year.
